PERFROMANCE
WHAT IS AN ADJUDICATED SHOWCASE?
The purpose of the Adjudicated Showcase is to provide an opportunity for dancers to perform on a beautiful professional stage, and receive critique from our panel of adjudicators. The focus is on nurturing a passion for dance and fostering a non-competitive atmosphere for dancers to learn and grow through the art of dance.
Critiques from each adjudicator will be relayed verbally to the dancers through voice recording during their performance. Verbal critiques will be delivered in a positive tone and focused on helping the dancers improve technique and artistry. Any critiques which the adjudicator wishes to share with the student’s teachers privately, will be written and released to the studio director only after your studios last routine is performed.
Our team of adjudicators will consist of teachers, choreographers, and working professionals that are well versed in all categories of dance.
All registered dancers receive a wristband allowing them to watch the showcase from designated rows in the audience. We believe dancers benefit greatly from watching each other perform and highly encourage the dancers to take advantage this opportunity to learn from and support each other. We encourage family members and friends to attend as spectators. Spectators may purchase a wristband which grants them admission to watch from designated rows in the theatre. All dancers and spectators are expected to follow proper theatre etiquette.
Once your registration is received and the deposit is received, your entries will be scheduled into an Adjudicated Showcase. We make every effort to limit the dancers and teachers time at the theatre and will do our best to honor scheduling requests.

AUDIENCE ETTIQUETTE
Studio Owners and teachers are responsible for notifying the dancers and parents of the following rules pertaining to audience behavior.
-
Enter and exit the theatre between performances only. Waking through the audience while dancers are performing on stage is distracting and rude.
-
No talking during the performance or when adjudicators are delivering verbal critique.
-
Noises off. Turn off cell phones, beepers, audible watches, and any other sound-making gadgets before any performance.
-
Don’t take flash photos during live performances. Doing so will distract the performers and disturb others in the audience.
-
This is not sporting event. No screaming or other loud noises during a performance. Applause and cheering after the routine is over is welcome.
DRESSING ROOMS & BACKSTAGE
Safety is our priority. For this reason, studio owners, teachers, registered chaperones, and dancers are the only people allowed in the Dressing Rooms and Backstage. Parents, family, and friends are not permitted in the Dressing Rooms or Backstage.
